Bird Talk

Bird Talk - a poem by Steven Jacobson

Poetry by

Steven Jacobson

soft, sweet and singing
sparrow shining in the morning sun.
rich and radiating colors,
embodying and entreating,
enchantment rendered
by all of God’s christened creatures.
big and burly cow crow to the small
soil-enriching earthworm,
a warm treat for all birds alike.
each living, lives parceling and partaking
of nature’s loving and lauding
demeanor and divinity.
rules regulating putting and placing,
loving and caring for each of God’s creatures.
beauty bequeathing, intensifying and inwardly
speaking to the heart and soul.
remembering and realizing,
sober, stately and sovereign,
ringing and raising,
chanting between lives and living
our life in fullness and direction.

Steven Jacobson was born and raised in the Midwest. He has attended multiple classes at the Loft Literary Center, including all levels of creative writing. His goal is to write a second book; his first, Spiritual Gait, was published in 2014.
