You are not alone.<br \/><br \/>It is part of human nature to squander&nbsp;<br \/>countless hours wishing for things we&nbsp;<br \/>can&#8217;t, don&#8217;t or shouldn&#8217;t have\u2014<br \/><br \/>that is the insane irony of life.<br \/><br \/>We trivialize the smallest&nbsp;<br \/>of things around us; fail to see<br \/>the beauty and simplicity&nbsp;<br \/>in between the spaces that used<br \/>to be important to us\u2014<br \/><br \/>Children know what these things are:<br \/>watch them,<br \/>and learn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:28px;color:#7d55a2\"><strong><em>What Eternity Looks Like\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\" style=\"font-size:21px\">Love those slow, summer sunsets&nbsp;<br \/>by the ocean, reluctant red-orange sphere<br \/>feverishly fighting its fall,<br \/><br \/>sending its last shafts of light skipping&nbsp;<br \/>on the waves to make thousands&nbsp;<br \/>of dizzy, dancing diamonds<br \/>explode into a darkening sky.<br \/><br \/>Are you afraid of impermanence?&nbsp;<br \/><br \/>Eternity lives, proves itself&nbsp;<br \/>in the ebb and flow of another day&#8217;s&nbsp;<br \/>safe journey home to these shores\u2500<br \/><br \/>head full of hopes and dreams<br \/>for another chance tomorrow<br \/>to make a perfect day, a<br \/>peaceful and patient world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><em><strong>Joseph Roque<\/strong> is a poet whose works have appeared in several literary journals.
