For Family & Friends
\n<\/h4>\n
\n

Thanksgiving sees me, lumbers
\ntoward me again,
\nexpectantly.<\/p>\n

Good food, family, friends; warm
\nfire, hazy white
\nchurch spire in the distance,
\npointing to heaven, but
\nsomething is missing\u2014<\/p>\n

not the Autumn wind, angry
\nthat its color-symphony of fallen leaves
\nwill soon recede, not the cotton candy
\nclouds, sketching all-too-familiar shapes\u2014<\/p>\n

it is the voices and laughter of lamented
\nloved ones, the essence of their touch,
\nthe presence of so much joy they gave to us.<\/p>\n

For all that God has sent our way,
\nwe give special thanks, but
\non this day, above all others,
\nI give thanks for more\u2014<\/p>\n

I celebrate the missing, survive
\nby reminiscing about those I loved
\nwho took with them pieces
\nof my heart, but left behind a crop
\nof precious memories.<\/p>\n

Each day I cheer, embrace
\nthose still here, remember those
\nwho were so much a part of me,
\nto them softly whisper\u2014<\/p>\n

I will not forget you\u2014
\nEver.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
