In the beautiful quiet of evening light,
\nwhile our dreams silently sleep,
\ngive me a moment of those times
\nwhen you were once still mine.<\/p>\n

Of when we were both sweet and young,
\ngiggling at ourselves\u2014
\njubilant and carrying none
\nof the past.<\/p>\n

Of when you and I were so in love
\nthough insults flung back and forth,
\nthough we kept saying we\u2019ve had enough
\nwe kissed until hearts were sore.<\/p>\n

Of when your silky laugh caressed
\nmy ears, while reading some fairytale
\npoems cascading, the story unfolding
\nall alive and well.<\/p>\n

You grip my hands in your own.
\nThe time of your end draws near.<\/p>\n

You murmur your thanks, though my pain
\nyou now sow along with my fears.<\/p>\n

Say you\u2019ll stay, or we\u2019ll meet again
\nin the Garden of Eden, in seas of heaven\u2014
\nwe\u2019ll whisper your sonnets in golden light.<\/p>\n

I close your sorrowfully innocent eyes.<\/p>\n

Your hand won\u2019t let go,<\/p>\n

and I find myself singing
\nour endless<\/p>\n

goodbyes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
