\nButterflies and the Milkweed<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\n

I’m surrounded by
\na large pink field of blossoming milkweed
\nand countless butterflies
\ncruising the buds for nectar.<\/p>\n

There are monarchs,
\nmany silver-spots,
\na solitary black swallowtail.<\/p>\n

They choose a flower,
\nsip, then suddenly rise up,
\nplay-scrap with each other
\nbefore settling down again
\non their respective plants.<\/p>\n

The wind-blown perfume
\nis almost too sweet
\nto be breathed<\/p>\n

And their beauty,
\nalmost too delicate to live.<\/p>\n

Instinct does a job
\nmy rationalizing never could.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n\"Short\n<\/div>\n

Let me tell you about my day<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Warm sunshine
\nthen marbled clouds
\nand showers.
\nPerfect stillness
\ninterrupted by
\noccasional gusts of wind.<\/p>\n

Bluebird on a trunk,
\nadvancing and retreating
\nat my presence,
\nbefore deciding to charm me
\nwith its soft elusive trill.<\/p>\n

Leaves waltz across
\nthe floor of the woods.
\nGiant raindrops ask
\nfor the next dance.
\nPines clash and sway,
\nback and forth
\nlike big green umbrellas.<\/p>\n

Then dusk,
\nclouds break,
\nleftover light
\nglows through windows
\nin the wildness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
