\n

A Wilder Flame<\/em><\/p>\n

I awaken before the dying
\nmorning star and in the
\nclear air I see the pledge,
\nthe brightening ray. I leap
\nfrom dreams to the flaring
\nscent of flowers in the birth
\nof this quiet hour, the dawn\u2019s
\nwings lifting my soul so high.
\nToday I may taste the light
\nof spring, the pulse of the
\nday so unreal I can\u2019t believe
\nit\u2019s true, the sapphire sky
\nso far above me, a part of
\nme infused with all the joy
\nof destiny fulfilling its own
\nname; I let the face of God
\nshine through. Love opened
\nthe door in my heart and
\ncried out to me; a wilder
\nflame lives inside of me.
\n
\nTidings<\/em><\/p>\n

Somewhere my dreams prism
\ntheir reflection in the deep
\ncushion of the night, the luminous
\ncenters of my eyes open to a
\nbouquet of truth. My heart
\nspeaks softer than a ribbon,
\nsofter than even time, droplets
\nfrom its tongue I wear as jewels.
\nI long to be a cerulean light,
\nno stray threads to eclipse my
\nthoughts, prayer the nucleus
\nof my universe, and I put
\nmyself in the way of beauty
\nin my waking life: in a daffodil
\nafternoon tidings of a rainbow
\nshower sparkling in the bowl
\nof my hands.
\n
\nExhale<\/em><\/p>\n

I breathed His name in
\nwind-touched silence
\nand I loved the grace
\ninside each breath,
\nthe warm rush of earth\u2019s
\nwater, the subtle altering,
\nevery movement a whis-
\npered flame, the tide of
\nsaffron music rising in
\nmy soul. I exhale when
\nthe sun traces my skin,
\nmy face, with its finger-
\ntips; the tang of hope
\nso close to my lips.
\nI dream of stretching
\nmy palms to the sky,
\nmy heart so wide, no
\nlonger hidden beneath
\nshy wings.<\/p>\n
