Poetry by

Steven Jacobson

rising overhead, the sun basks and
bakes the people milling about the square.
a parade weaves through the streets,
creating a pandemonium of thrills and
enchanting music
marketplace revealing like a revolving
forum, addressing freedom of speech,
amid people of all colors, ages and creeds.
crowd’s heart and voice beating and
singing like a rock n’ roll love song.

crowd embodies peacefulness and
tranquility like the opaqueness
and sparseness of clouds populating the
blue sky. chaos among children and adults,
balances out and is in harmony,
escaping life’s throes and pitfalls,
otherwise apart from the ransoms of life.

Steven Jacobson was born and raised in the Midwest. He has attended multiple classes at the Loft Literary Center, including all levels of creative writing. His goal is to write a second book; his first, Spiritual Gait, was published in 2014.
